The City of Granada changed position to the worker of the García Lorca Museum who disseminated Francoist messages

The City Council of Granada has accepted the application for transfer submitted by a janitor of the Huerta de San Vicente, the Federico García Lorca Museum in the Park that bears his name in the Granada capital, after the controversy raised in recent days by the supposed “apology of Franco” that this municipal worker would have done through social networks.

This has been pointed out by the City of Granada in a press release after, this last Tuesday, Adelante Andalucía demanded that the mayor of Granada, Marifrán Carazo, of the PP, the immediate transfer of this worker of the Huerta de San Vicente.

As detailed by the Municipal Culture Area on Wednesday, the decision has been made after the worker’s voluntary request, who has requested his relocation to another destination of the City of Granada “in an imminent way.”

The transfer will be effective once it is incorporated from the medical decline that has completed the Human Resources area of the City of Granada, which has reaffirmed its commitment to “the proper management of its staff and with the preservation of the cultural legacy of the garden of the garden of San Vicente, emblematic summer residence of Federico García Lorca ”.

“When Spain was Spain”

The worker, a janitor who worked in the public attention at the Museum Museum dedicated to the Granada poet killed by the rebels, published several messages showing his sympathy for Francoism and the Falange.

These are at least three publications, accessible on Facebook, which were shared in February 2021. In one of them, the man publishes the image of the book of La Falange and accompanies it of the phrase “When Spain was Spain.” At the same time, there are several messages that show their sympathy for Vox and one of them appears with the Francoist flag and writes “for a better Spain.” You can also see a post in which he writes “in times of reds, hunger, misery and lice.”

He also made a publication about Lorca himself. In it, the receptionist of the Lorquiano Museum mentions the 84th anniversary of the poet’s “death” and supports a comment from a user who maintains that those who shot him did it “for defending the rights of the gentlemen” and that he hates “The two parts equally.”

In another publication, it shows the image of the flag that is used in some ultra circles to refer to the “heterosexual pride”, as opposed to the holiday that recognizes the rights of the LGTBIQ+collective, to which Federico himself belonged.

They ask for the resignation of the Councilor for Culture

Before this transfer transcended, the Andalusian Workers’ Union (SAT) has requested this Wednesday the resignation of the Councilor for Culture, Juan Ramón Ferreira, in a press release in which “the silence of the City Council of Granada has denounced before the News appeared in the media that a worker, whose occupation is the attention to the public in the house-museum of Lorca, makes apology of Franco in his social networks ”.

SAT spokeswoman Inma Manzano has denounced that “while on Saturday the world of culture honored Lorca in the Goya this week we see how his house is news because of this Francoist and for the complicity and silence by the City Council ”
