Mayor Diego José Mateos considers that extending the programming can be an incentive for neighbors, tourists, merchants and hoteliers
The mayor of Lorca, Diego José Mateos, announced this Wednesday that, given the good reception that the cultural, musical and leisure offer programmed for June and July has had, from the City Council
They are considering extending it to the month of August starting next summer 2022.
In this way, the first mayor seconded the opinion of the president of Hostelor, Juan Abellaneda, betting on expanding the cultural offer in order to
offer an incentive for neighbors and tourists, also benefiting hoteliers and merchants. Mateos recalled that, from the Lorca City Council, the second package of municipal aid for hoteliers and merchants affected by the pandemic has already been processed.
On the other hand, he referred to the subsidies that are reaching these sectors from the regional government, thanks to the funds that the Government of Spain has transferred to all communities. In this sense, the mayor of Lorca once again emphasized «
joint work between the different administrations, the Government of Spain that transfers the money, the regional Government that distributes it and the City Councils that, with their own funds, as in the case of Lorca, launch aid lines for those economic sectors that are having the worst time due to the pandemic.
