The Spanish Federation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Distributors (Fedglp) has agreed this Monday to temporary suspension of the home delivery service of butane cylinders starting November 5 and until the sector’s demands are met.
This was announced in a statement after the meeting of its General Assembly, and the decision was approved unanimously.
These demands include the modification and update of Order IET/389/2015 by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, and for one ‘fair and appropriate’ update of the commission per cylinder distributed by the operators.
The Federation specified that during the suspension period the distribution agencies will not make home deliveries to individuals or companies, although they will continue guaranteeing supply to points of sale.
In addition, he specified that the suspension will not affect users in situations of social vulnerability, educational, health, social care centers, nursing homes, or non-profit institutions. In November, delivery will be suspended on the 5th, 13th, 21st and 29th; and in December on the 5th, 11th, 17th and 23rd.
The Federation denounces that the remuneration update system has not been updated for more than a decade and assures that the agencies “do not seek to harm the final consumer, who should not be affected by the demands of the sector, but instead seek to ensure that commissions for bottle they perceive are updated and distributed fairly and in accordance with the reality of the service, in order to try to reverse the continuous deterioration of the activity and promote its modernization, in accordance with the Sustainable Development objectives and the challenge of digitalization.
