The new generation consoles hit the market at the beginning of last November, and since then, the stock of both Microsoft consoles and Sony consoles has been a real headache for users who wanted to make the leap to the new generation.

We are delighted with how the console releases went. You have heard separately from Sony and Microsoft, their discussions about the size of the launches and the reception of the products. From our point of view, if you think about it, with just the amount of new hardware that had to go into place – millions of units from both consoles, or all three consoles – that they needed to ship, they came together really well.
As for what we have learned, there is a higher demand than we thought, and we are trying to put more capacity for that. But we are very happy with the launches, with the partnerships with Sony and Microsoft. They have somewhat different strategies, but we have partnered very well with both. This is a great cycle. That says a lot about how much technology we’ve been able to integrate into the console form factor.
In fact, both Microsoft and Sony announced that they had broken their respective launch records with Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5, respectively. And although the stock of the consoles has been smaller than usual, unfortunately AMD has confirmed that this situation will not change in the first quarter of the year.
