20 pieces of equipment, as well as 75 employees of the operating branch and the Department of Emergency Recovery Work No. 1, a branch of Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg, were involved in the restoration work at the site, the company added.
The fire of a section of the gas pipeline at 1793 km of FAD M5 of the Chebarkul region, two kilometers from the village of Borovoe near Chelyabinsk, occurred on Wednesday night. This section is a branch from the high-pressure gas pipeline with a diameter of 500 mm called Chebarkul – Katav-Ivanovsk, it is located underground at a depth of 1 meter. The damaged section of the gas pipeline was promptly shut down.
Rescuers extinguished the fire by 4:55 am Moscow time. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, traffic on the federal highway is not blocked. 58 people and 18 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
