Some feel forced to work from home, even though the ceiling has been falling on their heads for months. Others, on the other hand, have such severe complaints that they are absent for weeks, or get Long Covid and lose touch with the job.
The applicable quarantine and isolation regulations are regulated in the respective state regulations. In North Rhine-Westphalia, for example, you have to isolate yourself for ten days, i.e. stay at home, even if you have no or only a few symptoms. From the fifth day, the isolation can be ended after a negative test. For employees in hospitals, old people’s and nursing homes, a negative test and freedom from symptoms are mandatory before they start working again. The quarantine – i.e. that you have to stay at home if you have had close contact with infected people but are (still) negative yourself – no longer applies at the moment. But even then it is recommended to isolate yourself for five days.
