The Russian government has supported a bill banning surrogacy services for foreigners. It is reported by TASS with a link to the response of the Cabinet of Ministers.
It is noted that the government supported the adoption of the draft, subject to its revision before the State Duma is considered in the first reading.
In June, State Duma deputies introduced a bill that deprives foreigners of the opportunity to apply for the services of Russian surrogate mothers. Thus, only married citizens of Russia, or a single Russian woman, for whom carrying and giving birth to a child is impossible for medical reasons, can use the services of a surrogate mother.
