The businessman ‘Paco Gasofa’ asks to clarify if he has been convicted or acquitted for the corrupt plot of Eduardo Zaplana

The defense of businessman Francisco Pérez López, also known as ‘Paco Gasofa’, has asked the court of the fourth section of the Provincial Court of Valencia for clarification of the ruling in the ‘Erial case’. This is the possibility of clarifying some aspects of a sentence after it has been handed down, provided for in the Criminal Procedure Law.

The accountant of the plot, Francisco Grau, also presented a similar document in relation to his conviction for disqualification, in which he considers the intervention of his assets “clearly excessive.”

The writing of ‘Paco Gasofa’, to which this newspaper has had access, warns that in the sentencing ruling he is initially absolved, along with other defendants, “of the crimes for which they had been accused” while who was later sentenced to a year and a half in prison as the author criminally responsible for a crime of falsehood.

The businessman, with an account in Andorra, signed a debt recognition document “knowing” that the other participant had died, all within the framework of the distribution of the percentage of ownership of the Loix boat, acquired by several friends. of Zaplana although used mainly by the former president of the Generalitat Valenciana, according to the proven facts section of the ruling.

The “mendacious” document was prepared by Francisco Grau “at the direction” of Eduardo Zaplana, adds the Court of Valencia.

In his writing, “for the purposes of strict legal certainty,” the businessman requests clarification or correction of the sentence handed down, “in order to specify whether there is a conviction for a crime of falsification.”

The requests from both defenses slightly extend the deadlines for the more than likely appeals of those convicted against the sentence imposed by the Provincial Court of Valencia.
