Such trends are very dangerous, he stressed.
In particular, over 300 crimes against Russian-speaking citizens have been registered in Germany since the end of February. As German Interior Minister Nancy Feser said on April 4, illegal acts range from insults to damage to property and threats of violence.
In early April, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Moscow was working on a report on the manifestation of Russophobia and violations of the rights of Russians abroad against the backdrop of a special operation by the Russian Federation. The department indicated that the document will reveal an unprecedented Russophobic campaign that has unfolded in the world.
On February 17, the situation in the Donbass escalated significantly due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics turned to the Russian Federation for help. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the DNR and LNR.
Against the backdrop of escalation in the region, Russia launched an operation on February 24 to protect the civilian population of Donbass. As Peskov clarified then, the goals of the special operation are also the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
