The degree of execution of the accounts this year reaches 70% and the counselor Marín considers it “high” to have been approved in June
“I would not understand that these budgets were not supported by opposition groups. They are historical and for a historical moment, made for recovery ». With those words, the Minister of Economy, Finance and Digital Administration, Luis Alberto Marín, defended the project of Regional Budgets for 2022, which arrived at the Regional Assembly for debate and approval after being ratified the day before by the Governing Council.
Marín was received in the Cartagena Parliament by its president, Alberto Castillo, and met with the representatives of the five parliamentary groups to whom he gave detailed information on the accounts. Now they will have to study it. The Board and the Board of Spokespersons meet this Friday to admit them for processing and set an approval calendar that is scheduled to end on January 13. The Assembly will enable an extraordinary period of sessions to maintain its activity also at Christmas (the current period ends on the 22nd and the new one starts in February).
Budgets for 2022 amount to 5,403 million euros, 72.2 more than those in force, which represents an increase of 1.35%. As highlighted on Thursday in San Esteban, Marín emphasized in the Assembly that 8 out of every 10 euros will go to maintain health, education and social policy. Protecting the Welfare State, fighting the pandemic and promoting the economic recovery of the Region are the main objectives for the next fiscal year.
The draft law for the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community for 2022 reaches the Assembly when the accounts for the current year reached 70% execution on October 31. Marín acknowledged that it is not “the one we would have liked”, but considered it “high” if one takes into account that these accounts were approved in June, after the crisis in the Executive caused by the failed motion of censure against Fernando López Miras in March.
