This electoral journey finally it ended. What is seen in courts is missing. At least from the boxes of my neighborhood, I saw it much less strong than that of 2021 and not to mention the 2018 tsunami.
Interesting times are coming. I remember the first time I heard about Claudia Sheinbaum, it was more than ten years ago at a demonstration in the zócalo of the Mexico City. Such a Jewish name caught my attention, normal in that city. It was Sunday in a plaza covered with banners of injustice, missing persons and unrest. It’s not much different now that he is going to lead the country. At least Dr. Sheinbaum Pardo is an award-winning scientist and expert in climate change.
It will be a time of emergencies and global changes in which I hope the best of the impossible will happen. That, in a narrative version, is seen in a book by Abel Quezada. Sharp and accurate in his parody of him, this great observer of Mexican society published half a century ago his book The Best of Impossible Worlds in which he portrays a landscape that he then believed was modernizing and that today would not be portrayed very differently. In the book, Quezada also imagines planet Earth a thousand years after the extinction of humans and the reasons not very different from the current ones that erased them from the map of life. He also envisions interesting inventions for Mexicanism such as Antesalóscope and the Ministerrama, the latter “ideal for people who go out of their way to have their picture taken with a politician and then hang the photo as if it were a diploma.” All of this very modern.
As current and accurate as “El Jefe Diego” spoke in an interview a few days ago, with all his words and almost a cigar in his sinister, Diego Fernández de Cevallos sentenced how the leaders of the Opposition did not comply with Mexico for being more interested in enlisting for the Congressinstead of organizing a real proposal for citizens.
He raised the ridiculousness of the Opposition political class that does not give the width to the society that is “present and determined to act.” In that he was referring to the several tens of millions of voters in Mexico who were waiting for a compelling option to vote for, and that only existed in millions of hopes that were broken very quickly.
And the national task is much greater than just following the project that arrived six years ago and was already outdated by then. I see clearly that, if Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas continues in politics, before six years he could read word for word that speech of his father in a Mexico that he will continue with “hunger and thirst for justice”. Of course, the royals forgive “Colosito” for leaving as a “chapulín”.
There is a lack of reflection on what is wanted and what is required so that Mexico can build a common front to address the global problems of tomorrow that are already here today. A current climate change and countries activating their military recruitment, weapons and ready for new wars. Furthermore, the first rains have already arrived in the Badiraguato mountain range and that means that the pitahayas, which have been so wonderful this season, will soon be gone, perhaps because of the heat, who knows, perhaps it is that the strength of hopes is fed by their impossible potentialities.
