Dietary folate is a vitamin whose main contributors are fruits, vegetables, legumes and nuts. In an article previously published by the UMH researcher, it was already demonstrated a lower risk of stomach cancer among people who had a greater dietary folate intake.
This new advance has been detected after controlling the effect of other possible risk factors known to stomach cancer, such as Helicobacter Pilori, tobacco and low socioeconomic levelamong others, as explained by the academic institution.

In the study, the joint analysis (Poole-Analysis) has been carried out for A total of 2,829 cases of gastric cancer and 8,141 controls to participants in eleven studies from different countriesbelonging to the Stomach Cancer Pooling International Consortium.
