Hyuk said that the “Squid Game” team was keen, in the scenes in which weapons were used, that there were no bullets, to ensure that no mistake occurred, as happened recently in the American movie “Rust”, where the director of photography died after being shot by mistake.
“Weapons in Korean artwork are not loaded with lead, as in American cinema,” Hyuk added.
He continued, “Despite all precautions, there are still possibilities of accidents during filming, so we stress the safety elements during filming, and exclude any bullets,” according to the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”.
Hyuk’s comment came in response to a reporter’s question about the incident in the filming of “Rust”, after the weapon that actor Alec Baldwin was training with caused the death of the work’s director of photography.
On Wednesday, a negligence suit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court against Baldwin and more than a dozen others, by lighting chief Serge Svetnoy in connection with the October 21 incident.
The lawsuit stated that the incident almost caused Svitnoy’s death, and that he suffered a lot from an emotional and psychological point of view because of what happened on the set.
According to court documents, Svetinoy had previously warned the responsible authorities that he had seen rifles left unattended at the scene of the incident.
