After paying more than US$ 2 billion for control of the Belmond luxury hotel chain (which Brazilians Copacabana Palace and Hotel das Cataratas, in Foz do Iguaçu are part of), the French group LVMH takes another step in its expansion in the travel segment with the inauguration of the Cheval Blanc Paris, installed in the La Samaritaine building after a 15-year renovation.
There are 72 rooms, a spa by the Dior brand whose 30-metre pool has sparkling hand-crafted mosaics, and four restaurants run by chef Arnaud Donckele, owner of three Michelin stars.
Guests can choose between the intimate Plénitude, the Le Tout-Paris brasserie, with panoramic views from the seventh floor, the Langosteria, specializing in fish and seafood, or the Limbar, where breakfast is served. Daily rates from 1.5 thousand euros. Reservations on the website chevalblanc.com/fr/.
