Tomorrow, “Saturday”, the Asian Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship will kick off at the Ju-Jitsu Arena in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of hundreds of players from various clubs and academies, in the junior, youth, professional and master categories.
The first day of the championship, which will be held on October 1 and 2, organized by the Jiu-Jitsu Federation, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu-Jitsu Association, will witness the junior, youth and master competitions, while the second day “tomorrow” will witness competitions in the amateur and professional categories.
Fahd Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said: The Asian Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship is held a month before the start of the World Championship, which is immediately followed by the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, and therefore its timing is ideal to enhance the players’ readiness and intensify their preparations to compete in two of the most prominent tournaments on the planet. The championship is of great importance, because it is included in the annual classification approved by the Abu Dhabi Professional Jiu-Jitsu Association, where it gives the first place winner 1,400 rating points for each category added to the balance that qualifies him to win the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Award, which gives it an additional value within the season’s tournaments.
The official weight procedures for the first day’s fights will be completed between eight and nine in the morning, with the competitions starting at ten in the morning.
