On Saturday, October 23, 2021, the Tri Femenil faced the Argentine National Team in Tepatitlán, after a month of preparation and as part of the friendly tour that Mónica Vergara is doing to meet and work with groups of soccer players.
The match ended with a positive balance for the Aztecs with a final score of 6-1, a rather bulky result that reflects a broad Aztec dominance over the visitors. However, it must be clarified that this was partly thanks to bad refereeing work.
And it is not news that in our country, the work of the referees is more than deficient, this has been reflected especially in the Liga MX Femenil, because every day, there are at least a couple of games with arbitration controversies included and that end up being direct factors in the final results.
Against Argentina it was no exception, and it is worth noting that the game was about to get out of control during the first half, as Argentina began to hit, they committed foul after foul and Mexico also did the same. These repetitive fouls ended in several innings that could seriously injure several players and a sigh of a pitched battle between Mexican and Argentine players.
Luckily, Mexico had a cool head and was able to avoid falling into the game of the Albicelestes, but the referee never had the authority to show red cards, although he did have the authority to mark a penalty in favor of ours on Alison González who knew how to sell it. Well, there was no foul on the Nayarit, and thus Mexico was able to tie the score at one.
The refereeing horrors did not stop there, and in the second half, in Alison González’s goal from Joseline Montoya’s pass, the Atlas player was in an advanced position, but the refereeing team accepted the goal and thus added one more of the six goals that Mexico made in Tepatitlán.
The refereeing work is increasingly deficient and once again it is the protagonist in a match where the highest possible quality was demanded of them. This is a big problem for our football that will have to be solved as soon as possible if we aspire to continue growing as a football powerhouse.
