The Arab Parliament: The Green Saudi Initiative is a roadmap to confront climate change

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asumi, valued the launch of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Saudi Crown Prince, the first version of the annual forum of the Green Saudi Initiative in Riyadh, stressing that launching the first package of quality initiatives in the Kingdom represents An Arab, regional and international roadmap for protecting the environment and facing the challenges of climate change, in order to achieve the ambitious goals of the Green Saudi Initiative.
In a statement today, Saturday, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament stressed the importance of the Green Saudi Initiative to contribute to the development of the green economy, create quality job opportunities, and provide huge investment opportunities for the private sector, in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Al-Asoumi added that the announcement of His Highness the Saudi Crown Prince, his intention to transform the city of Riyadh into one of the most sustainable cities in the world, is a strong signal towards change for the better, expressing his hope that this initiative will be implemented at the level of Arab countries, to meet the current challenges facing the region as a result of phenomenon of climate change.
Al-Soumi indicated that the Arab Parliament will adopt Arab legislation aimed at preserving the environment, based on the vision of Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the green Middle East, and will set plans, programs and legislation that contribute to achieving this vision.
