The Committee on Appeals in the Volleyball Association elections, for the new session 2020-2024, accepted the appeal submitted by Al-Wehda and Ajman, regarding the decision to exclude them from the candidacy and voting race, in the upcoming elections scheduled for five o’clock in the evening next Tuesday at the Jaddaf Marriott Hotel in Dubai.
According to the decision, which is expected to be officially announced this afternoon, along with the final list of candidates, the two candidates Jamal Al-Matrooshi (Ajman) and Osama Gargash (Al-Wehda) will return to the list of contenders for membership, who will be elected by acclamation, at a time when the committee rejected the appeal submitted by Rams. On the decision to exclude the candidate Yousef Al-Mannai from receiving the nomination papers after the approved time.
For its part, the Volleyball Federation yesterday repeated the draw for the men’s general league competitions for the 2021-2022 season, after Al-Rams withdrew from the participation, which is limited to 8 clubs, namely Al-Nassr “the title holder”, Shabab Al-Ahly, Bani Yas, Al-Jazira, Al-Ain, Al-Wasl, Hatta, Ajman.
The league will start in its new season by holding matches for the first week on November 26 instead of its first date on November 19, after Al Rams joined the list of those withdrawing during the current season, which includes Al Wahda and Al Dhafra as well.
