Mexico City.- The General Executive Board of the INE approved an amount of 6 million 215 thousand 196 pesos to begin the organization of extraordinary municipal elections in five states.
These resources are only for the hiring of electoral trainers who will prepare polling station officials for said projects.
Although local elections are in charge of the state electoral institutes, the INE assumes various activities. Because the annulment of elections in various entities is still in dispute, so far there are only 11 municipalities.
For example, there are Belisario Domínguez and Ocampo, in Chihuahua; Cuautepec de Hinojosa, in Hidalgo, and Irimbo, in Michoacán.
As well as San Lucas Tecopilco and Santa María Capulac, in Tlaxcala; Chichimilá and Izamal, in Yucatán; Tlaquiltenango, in Morelos, and Xiutetelco and Ayotoxco, both in Puebla. In that entity, the local Court also annulled the election in Venustiano Carranza and Chignahuapan, but the federal Electoral Court remains to be resolved. The annulments were due to interference by local governments, burning of paperwork or ballots, gender impersonation or violence. “Aware that the various activities in this matter must begin and comply with the coordination plan and calendar for the extraordinary electoral processes, the approval of this item is requested,” reported the Director of Training of the INE, María Elena Cornejo.
