The activities of the 12th annual Cardiovascular Disease Conference were concluded in Dubai, which was held under the patronage of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences and in scientific cooperation with the Gulf Heart Association. Conference Chairman Dr. Wael Al Mahmeed said that this medical event aimed to consolidate interest in developing medical cadres and creating an incubating environment for experts and specialists in an effort to develop health services provided to all segments of society, pointing out that the most important feature of this conference was its presentation.
All topics were presented in the form of realistic cases, which encouraged participation and dialogue between the members of the discussion committee and the audience, as the list of speakers at the conference included a number of specialists from “Cleveland Clinic” and “Mayo Clinic” in the United States of America and a group of the most prominent
Doctors in cardiovascular specialties from the state.
Among the most prominent topics discussed by the conference are the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, left ventricular dysfunction associated with multiple vascular diseases, the results and complications resulting from the replacement of the aortic valve by catheter and implantation operations.
The valve or the use of the mitral valve clip and the treatment of heart failure cases and the role of the medical teams’ approach in dealing with these cases, in addition to electrophysiology and pacemakers, as in cases of premature ventricular contraction.
The conference also shed light on peripheral vascular diseases, carotid artery and coronary artery diseases, valve diseases and some cases related to congenital diseases related to the circulatory system.
