The anger between the PP and Vox has extended in recent weeks to the municipalities. The Order of the National Directorate led by Santiago Abascal to break the coalition governments with the PP unilaterally and block By 2025. But also many locations, some provincial capitals, have started the year without public accounts due to the lack of understanding of the two rights. The PP seeks that other parties support him while closing any agreement with the central government after the Fiasco in the Decree of Pensions.
Vox chose care for migrants to justify the rupture of regional governments, and since then he has not stopped increasing his criticisms of the PP, on account of Feijóo’s fluctuations before the decree of pensions or for their European alliances. The strategic turn of the extreme right has worked, according to the opinion polls published in recent weeks.
Those of Santiago Abascal have chosen to squeeze even more the only party that lends itself to agree with them and have taken the struggle at the municipal level. In some cities the accounts have lying, such as in Cádiz or Burgos. In others, they have pressed to include their most ideological claims, such as in Seville or Zaragoza, where there are principles of agreement that have not yet materialized.
In multiple municipalities, the PP has been forced to seek support in other parties, something that can hardly try at the regional level, where negotiations are bogged down. It occurs in Murcia, where Vox has already launched little or nothing related to the needs of the region. In others, such as Aragon, conversations have not even started. The government of Jorge Azcón has the possibility of looking for pacts to different bands, but no one expects them to put an agreement before spring. Precisely in the Aragonese capital, the 2025 budgets are not planned until the end of the month.
In Castilla y León the situation is not better, since Vox has exploded after the dismissal of two attorneys in cuts and the resignation of the spokesman, Juan García-Gallardo, who has dispatched against the impositions and lack of “loyalty” of the Directorate of Santiago Abascal. Important places such as Burgos, where the attention to migrants also was triggered the break, or Segovia are without accounts for this 2025.
Alfonso Fernández Mañueco has ruled out, for the moment, an autonomous electoral advance. A trick that, just 10 days after ruling out, has wielded the president of Extremadura, María Guardiola, who has had to extend last year’s budgets before the ‘no’ of Vox, first, and the PSOE, later.
In Badajoz there are still no accounts despite the absolute majority of Ignacio Gragera. In Cáceres there has been an agreement this Wednesday between popular and socialists to get accounts from the city by 2025. The PSOE, which a few days ago rejected the project, has now reported that will refrain in the final vote.
The Extremadura city is going to leave the list of large municipalities without accounts by 2025. There were Seville and Cádiz. In this city, the mayor, Bruno García, has not even presented the budget project. In the Andalusian capital, Mayor José Luis Sanz, he had to undergo a matter of confidence in the past year to approve them.
For this year’s exercise, Sanz has reached an ‘in extremis’ agreement with Vox in which the ultra -right presumes to have put its “seal.” It will be eliminated to developing cooperation or democratic memory, as well as equality policies, while watering and Catholic associations will be irrigated with public money.
Vox rejection of municipal accounts is not uniform. In Toledo or Valencia, for example, those of Abascal have supported budgets. In the case of the province affected by the DANA, also in the Diputación, which allows the PP to dream that they will also give the autonomous accounts when the questioned Carlos Mazón present them. Neither PSOE nor Compromís want to negotiate. And Vox has already warned in Alicante that can perfectly go to ‘no’.
A paradigmatic case has been that of Oviedo, where the PP has managed to get the 2025 accounts with the support of IU, whose local group is led by Gaspar Llamazares.
Cross criticism
Abascal, meanwhile, increases the pressure on the PP has already made Feijóo come out to replicate him at a time when Vox gives a feeling of disruption. The leader of the extreme right, who seeks to strengthen his leadership among the European ultras in the middle have voted against the first attempt.
Abascal has claimed to his hypothetical ally that at least “he will be aside and does not hinder” to let the Vox leader “the real alternative” to “this corrupt and criminal government.” The deputy said seeing Feijóo “denoring” and accused him of “helping this ruinous government when he is in difficulties.”
Feijóo’s response was harder than usual. The PP opted from the arrival of Galician to the direction not to confront with Vox in the belief that it only feeds the ultras. Even in the negotiations of 2023 Feijóo gave the order to Guardiola and López Misas to assume the coalition governments to avoid a anger before the general elections.
This same Monday, before the National Board of Directors of the Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo pointed to his municipal and regional partner as a “sarao, Sarao and a lifted fuel opposition”. The phrase bothered, and much, to Abascal, who replied on Twitter.
Cross statements have spread throughout the week. On Thursday, together with Feijóo, the president of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, took advantage of the recent resignation of his vice president to attack Vox. “We have seen that some political leaders surrender, throw their towel, disappoint their voters,” he said about Gallardo, not to mention it. “No, we continue in the same place, working,” he added, to launch for the voice voter: “Tell the voters who are disappointed by the lies and escapes, which we are available.”
Also the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, seeks to phagocyte what remains of Vox in the region, after the departure of Rocío Monasterio and the fall in disgrace of Javier Ortega-Smith. Ayuso said Thursday that “an important part of the electorate” aspires that PP and Vox “understand.” “When I have discussions with VOX, they are in the Assembly, they are parliamentary discussions that remain there, and I do not then enter anything else,” he replied to Abascal’s criticisms.
Ayuso came to say in the control session his government that “the person born in Spain is Spanish, as Spanish as Abascal. Put it on. ” “Maybe if we go for the DNA looking for ancestors, maybe, the vox problem will be another. I do not plan to deny health care to anyone living in the community, ”he said.
Feijóo’s phrase against Abascal was a “low intensity response” to continued attacks “of Vox, according to the direction. But from Genoa they already begin to slide that the support of the PP to the second social decree of the Government does not imply opening to other pacts and of course it denies air to Sánchez by approved budgets that could then extend to strengthen the legislature until 2027. Meanwhile, the PP seeks alternative majorities in municipalities and communities where your alleged allies do not want to approve your own accounts.
