During the Summer Game Fest we were able to see the first one trailer for the Among Us animated series, currently in production at CBS Studios. The result of a collaboration with Innersloth, the project will be directed by Owen Dennis.
The premise is basically the same as the game: “Some crew members have been replaced by a shape-shifting alien intent on causing confusion, sabotaging the ship and killing everyone. Eliminate the Imposter or you will fall victim to his evil plans.”
Titmouse will be in charge of the animation, while it is not known at the moment on which streaming platform the show will be broadcast: The producers are engaged in several negotiations and an announcement will come soon.
An expanding success
Announced exactly one year ago, the Among Us animated series will feature a cast of high-profile voice actorswhich includes Elijah Wood, Ashley Johnson, Phil Lamarr and Patton Oswald, among others.
The trailer offers a glimpse of how the series tries to translate into animation the typical atmospheres of Among Usits peculiar aesthetic and the humor that characterizes each game, showing us a varied roster of characters.
The show will aim to further expand the already extraordinary popularity of the gameoriginally launched in 2018 but ended up in the spotlight two years later thanks to a series of events that propelled it to the top of charts around the world.
To the point that, after a few months, the title could already count on nearly 500 million monthly active usersover 4 billion views on YouTube and more than 1.22 billion views on Twitch.
