The premiere of Spiderman: No Way Home confirmed Andrew Garfield’s return as Spider-Man, and now fans want to see him back in a solo movie. The Amazing Spider-Man 3 has become a trend in recent days and with the door open for Sony and Marvel it is necessary to ask: is this a good idea or would it be just another resounding failure?
In the next note we review the history of Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios, in addition to evaluating the possible reasons why making a third installment would be the wrong thing if precautions are not taken.
Redemption or continuation?
Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man already got his moment of redemption by saving MJ in Spiderman: No Way Home.
After seven years of the fall of Gwen Stacy and a saga canceled only in its second step, this was the moment that the character deserved.
In the same tape, this version of Peter Parker makes it clear that after Gwen’s death he went through a dark stage where he stopped measuring his blows.
For that reason, rescuing MJ from the same death that his girlfriend got in the past closes his story arc on a good note.

In that sense, adding one more chapter to the character would be a huge risk and could put the character back in an unfinished and disappointing position.
Nostalgia sells, but doesn’t always honor
Spiderman: no way home is proof that you can make good tributes to past franchises if you know how to treat yourself with respect.
Bringing Andrew Garfield back to Tobey Maguire was a wise move for one simple reason: nostalgia sells.
But to nostalgia, it is necessary to add an important factor: meaning. And this is something that director Jon Watts understood with No way home.
We were not alone before the meeting of the 3 Spider-Man, the basis was to initiate Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as a true hero.
By the end of the film, Holland’s Peter Parker has matured and finally understands that he cannot lead two lives.

Along the same lines, it would be necessary to see how much sense The Amazing Spider-Man 3 would make, after No way home.
After his redemption by the death of Gwen (perhaps the highest point of his saga), what more can be said of the character with logic?
The Sony-Marvel path
After Sony Pictures’ great failure with Spider-Man, producer Amy Pascal understood that working alongside Marvel was a necessary step.
In such a way, the last five years with Tom Holland together and out of the Avengers, have been a more solid path for the character in the cinema.
With No way home, Spider-Man already has a clear path to finally get closer to the comics and stop being the cocky Tony Stark in the MCU.
So going back to an earlier version of Spider-Man could be a throwback for the Sony and Marvel relationship.
YOU CAN SEE: Spiderman 3: why does only Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man have organic cobwebs?
Wouldn’t it be wiser to focus on everything you’ve built these years and create the ultimate Spider-Man with Tom Holland?
A little hope
Beyond all the reasons for not doing this third part, there is still a good reason that could determine your success.
The charisma that Andrew Garfield brings to the character and the love he has for Spider-Man could make The Amazing Spider-Man 3 be a success.
It should be noted that Sony’s interference in the TASM saga was one of the factors that caused problems for Garfield and director Marc Webb.
The disaster of wanting to introduce so many villains in a single film caused the franchise to fail and it was canceled.
So if this does not happen again and the studios manage to make a solid story to give the final farewell to the unfinished trilogy, the movie would work perfectly.
With all of the above and the open multiverse, we will have to wait to see what happens. The desire for the fans is already present, the only thing missing is the decision of Marvel and Sony.
