As expected, Amazfit, the wearables brand owned by Xiaomi, has taken advantage of the CES 2021 stage to present its new portable devices for this year: The Amazfit GTR 2e and Amazfit GTS 2e. Two smart watches that, as their names suggest, will be characterized by presenting very similar and unique characteristics.
In fact, roughly the only major differences between the two watches are aesthetics and battery life. On the one hand, in the Amazfit GTS 2e we will find a 1.65-inch rectangular AMOLED rotating screen (with 341 dpi pixel density), while the GTR 2e opts for a 1.39-inch rotating round AMOLED screen (with a pixel density of 326 dpi). In terms of battery life, the advantage will be for the GTR 2e, with up to 24 days of autonomy with a single full charge, down to two weeks on the GTS 2e.
Thus, although they are smartwatches and not activity bands, these watches focus their functions on monitoring users and their health. And is that both devices have the Amazfit BioTracker 2 PPG optical sensor to monitor heart rate and monitoring of blood oxygen saturation during training; as well as other tools such as the measurement of sleep quality and stress levels.
Some data that, combined with the intelligent functions of Amazfit, in addition to the already recurring ones, the usual step count, calorie tracking and activity reminders, will help us to create a personal and complete profile of our physical capacities, our progress, and general health.
In addition, directly linked to health monitoring, the GTR 2e and GTS 2e They will also have functions to monitor the exercise, ensuring the company that each watch will feature up to 90 sport detection modes preconfigured, which unfortunately have not been detailed yet.
Availability and price
Without a doubt, Amazfit is looking not only to innovate with its smartwatches, but to stand up to the Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch, especially when we look at their price. Available from the moment of their presentation, currently we can already find both Amazfit GTR 2e and Amazfit GTS 2e available through Amazon, under a shared introductory price of just $ 139.99 (approximately 115 euros at the current exchange rate).
