The Agro and Culture Foundation, whose headquarters are located in San Martín de Elines (population of around 40 inhabitants), in Valderredible, continues to demonstrate that from the territory this Rural Environment can be projected, which is one of the key interlocutors for the sustainable future of our society.
In this way, last Tuesday, November 19, its facilities received the 20 students from the CARE Audiovisual of the EOI (School of Industrial Organization) to conclude the course that had begun in October with an intensive and in-person session. “There are still personalized tutorials, but the students, young people who come from different places in our geography such as Segovia, Burgos, Murcia, etc., have been able to learn first-hand about the social reality of our territory”says the Foundation in a statement.
ACTIVITIES
The day started at 9:30 a.m. with a intense fog that “predicted that the day was going to be magical. And it was.” The new market niches that the digital era brings with Artificial Intelligence and the innovation that this entails were exposed, the pioneers who are already implementing new technologies in their professions were heard, “and above all the students were able to verify that There are many companies willing to prepare professionalswho will be able to practice their profession remotely and from the environment, in this case Rural where they aspire to live.
“Some experts compared this new Technological Revolution with the Industrial Revolution,” points out the organization, which emphasizes that the students were always able to share your concerns, your projects, your dreams and they made the most of the classes. “They were intense hours of master classes given by the best national teachers that currently exist. For the students, everything was so interesting, so fascinating, so real… that no one left their chair,” they add.
The day ended by adding to the proposal. “The best possible setting to acquire knowledge, in the purest Pythagorean style; the autumn sun, the blue sky invaded by restless, almost transparent clouds, letting in the timid heat of this autumn season,” describes AgroyCultura, which organized the meal in its patio with some tables “to enjoy a railway pot with “vallucas” potatoes and meat from Campoo Los Valles.”
CATTLE RAISING
In this context, the students received the visit of a farmer who raises calves. “Nacho, a young boy who has come to continue his grandfather’s exploitation. He told us his experience. Of course, washed down with good wine, also from our Valderredible valley, which always helps to socialize and encourages creativity in just the right amount,” indicates the Foundation.
The day concluded “with the same doses of enthusiasm. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. exhausted from learning, but we still had energy for one last proposal from the Foundation; enjoy the Romanesque Collegiate Church of S. Martín on a guided tour nocturnal”, whose heritage legacy is cared for with effort and for which formulas are being sought through AgroyCultura to give it the future it deserves.
This activity and the cultural and educational proposals that it entails are the best example of the work claimed by the AgroyCultura Foundation from rural territories, “being part of them, dedicating efforts in the place itself…”. “And from that concrete identity, being able to fly and project oneself to the world; be open to the new needs of society and propose a real reformulation that is born from knowledge of the place; of having witnessed its decline and therefore having an accurate diagnosis to know how to act,” the organization emphasizes.
AGROYCULTURE FOUNDATION

DEPOPULATION

Our ‘Polientes Audiovisual’ project cries out for real measures to be taken to overcome depopulation and the abandonment of the youngest.”
Likewise, he thanked “the EOI, belonging to the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the European Funds, its director Luis Cueto, EGEDA, the Valderredible City Council, the Government of Cantabria, Platino Educa and all the people who helped us support in this adventure.”
