More than 200 teachers from across the Region of Murcia participated this week in training sessions of the 'Active Schools' program promoted by the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Employment, through the Educational Programs Service and in collaboration with the Teachers' Center and Resources (CPR).
The general director of Attention to Diversity, Pedro Mondéjar, participated in the session, which was attended as speakers by different teachers specializing in alternative sports from Mérida, Seville and the Basque Country, in addition to the promoters of the educational program 'Active Schools'. Mondéjar highlighted the history of the initiative, which “has proven to be an effective tool to promote physical activity and sports among students.”
“These tools make it possible to promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, by having more than 60,000 schoolchildren from more than 300 primary and compulsory secondary schools since its inception, as experimental work at the Alzabara Grouped Rural School in Fuente Álamo” , he assured.
The general director insisted on the idea of enhancing the emotional well-being of students through initiatives such as the 'Mini-rutasEA', which have already been implemented in 220 educational centers to stimulate the practice of physical exercise and healthy living in life. school in more than 25,000 students, or with the already known routes of 10,000 steps which are intended to promote active family leisure outside school hours.
During the conference, a discussion table was held on educational inclusion and different innovative experiences launched by the CEIP Azorín, Ciudad de Murcia, Leiva, Joaquín Carrión Valverde, Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Alhama de Murcia and San Pablo de Abarán.
