The youngest, a student at a summer school in Puente Tocinos, was transferred to the ICU in La Arrixaca where she died
seven year old girl who entered La Arrixaca after being rescued with symptoms of drowning in a public swimming pool on the road to Salabosque, in the Murcian district of La Alberca,
passed away at dawn this Saturday, as specified by health sources. The little girl, who was participating in a summer school activity when the accident occurred, remained in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital center in critical condition until this Saturday she finally died.
The youngest went to the pool on Wednesday in the company of other classmates from summer school. According to emergency sources, around eleven thirty in the morning
lifeguards rescued the girl and another 12-year-old boy who had had trouble getting out of the water. The boy was fine and did not need medical help. Although he remains under observation, he was able to leave the pool under his own power.
The minor, however,
he was in cardiorespiratory arrest. As the sources explained, the lifeguards began to carry out resuscitation tasks on the children while waiting for the arrival of the toilets. Two medicalized ambulances from the Emergency Management and Sabbath Emergencies 061 were mobilized to the place. The girl was transferred to the ICU in La Arrixaca where she died this Saturday.
The Murcia City Council has opened an investigation to
know the causes of the accident that occurred during the Puente Bacinos Summer School. The Consistory now works in
know exactly the facts, if all the security measures have been carried out and the regulations have been complied with.
A few hours after the accident, the mayor of Murcia, José Antonio Serrano, was interested in the health status of the minors and offered all the support of the Government Team to the family.
