And the knowledge economy.” The forum was opened by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, in the presence of Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, Director General of Emirates News Agency, Abdul Rahim Al Butaih Al Nuaimi, Acting Director General of Abu Dhabi Media, Dr. Mohammed Al Ali, CEO of the Trends Center for Research and Consultation, and Ambassador Ahmed Al Hosani. , and a constellation of writers, researchers and media professionals.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, said: “While we are proud of the knowledge economy in the UAE, we have to constantly be aware of the potential effects of knowledge and technologies on the nature of society: there are now technologies in the use of smart machines, there are important applications, In biotechnologies, and a tremendous development in medical technologies, there are technologies that may – he adds – affect what we know about humans, their characteristics, and their components – there is an amazing development, in transportation, aircraft and self-driving cars, there are radical changes in the ways of communication between Human beings, in the ability to work remotely, and the related need to prepare the human being, to deal with these developments, and to be aware of the available jobs, in the future, and what may be associated with them, the increase in unemployment among the population, and even with regard to the quality of life in general – is related to this All the bad uses of technologies in spreading extremism and violence, in addition to the dangers of electronic piracy, and the dangers of disrupting the smart systems on which life depends, and what all of this requires in building the capacity of society to face these challenges.
