Police saved a Thai woman who had been strangled by a python for two hours on Tuesday evening, the media reports, including a British newspaper The Guardian and a US television channel CNN.
A 64-year-old living in the south of Bangkok Arom Arunroj was doing the dishes at home when he felt something bite his leg. “I looked down and saw that it was a snake,” says Arunroj.
Pyton wrapped around the woman, and she fell to the ground. The woman struggled for two hours to get free, but was unsuccessful.
At one point he got hold of the snake’s head. However, the snake did not relent and continued to strangle.
The woman screamed for help, but no one answered. Finally, one of the neighbors heard the emergency calls and called the police.
The police the footage shows Arunroj struggling in the python’s stranglehold. “The snake was really big,” said the chief constable of the southern Bangkok police district.
Pyton was four meters long and weighed more than 20 kilograms.
The woman was released in half an hour, after which she was taken to hospital.
