With the opening of the last stations Supercharger in Italy, to be precise in Genoa, Cuneo and Grandate (province of Como, one step away from the border with Switzerland), Tesla has reached and exceeded 51 ‘points’ dedicated to charging in our country. There are now a total of 424 columns of the American brand available on the Italian territory, reflecting a market performance which, even without leaving you speechless, continues its course.
“With 51 charging stations across Italy, you can truly go anywhere with Tesla. In an effort to satisfy our growing network of Tesla owners, we will continue to expand our charging network to ensure an even faster and more comfortable experience.“, Reads a note from the brand founded by Elon Musk. Tesla currently has a share of 0.14% in the Italian market, on a par with Jaguar and ahead of Mitsubishi. Since the beginning of 2022 it has sold 311 vehicles. In 2021, 6,045 units of the American car manufacturer were sold in Italy (ended the year with a 0.41% share).
All things considered, the Italian expansion plan is still in small steps compared to what is happening, for example, in Chinese territory. It appears that some Tesla owners from a remote mountain village in China are transforming their Model Y vehicles into mobile suites, taking advantage in particular of the ‘Camp’ mode. Thanks to this insight they are fueling the local tourism sector. According to Teslarati, about 31 people from a small village in Yunnan province called Panzhihua own a Model Y.
Basically, when all host families are full on hotel rooms and other facilities, Tesla owners rent their vehicles to visitors for the night. The glass roof of the all-electric crossover helps guests gaze at the night sky. And when it’s not about ‘overnight stays’, some use the Model Ys as mobile shops as well. Recently, Tesla China announced that Panzhihua now has a Supercharger charging station. Rightlywe can add.
