For those who love electric and do not mind the ‘tuning’ changes, Tesla Model S seems to be a good model to modify. In fact, the Germans thought of it Prior Design, who have created two kits already available for sale. This is a widebody kit, with pronounced wheel arches, and a slightly less extreme ‘aerodynamik’ variant.
Prior Design kits, approved by the German TUV, consist of several components made from the material Dura-Flex FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), which should be not only easy to paint, but also strong and elastic. The resulting Tesla Model S therefore differ from the original by bumpers, spoilers, side skirts, diffuser and wheel arches. The cost of the basic kit is 8,178 euros, but excluding taxes, transport, assembly and painting. Consequently, the final figure is around 10,000 euros.
Ever since Tesla went from being a niche car to selling a lot on German soil too, the tuners did not miss the opportunity to start making some changes. More than performance, we talk about aesthetics. However, there is no certainty that with these bodykits the autonomy will benefit, since the flows can also determine variations of kilometers in the calculation of the available range. Certainly the Prior Design choices prefer a ‘racing’ look, even at the front where the aggressive look has certainly made this version of the American electric more European.
