Tesla has delivered an unknown number of cars to customers without stating that they do not have USB ports. Because in many cases the wireless chargers also do not function, there are people who cannot charge their phone in their new car.
The chip shortage is taking its toll on car manufacturers worldwide. Factories are shut down and cars are delivered with limited functionality with the promise that customers can come back in time to have the problems fixed. Tesla does this too, but in a number of cases the company has failed to inform customers about the limited functionality.
According to the US website reddit and other media Elon Musk’s company has been supplying cars without USB ports since November 11. Complaints are also being made on Facebook. Most cars lack USB ports in the center console, others don’t have charging points for the rear seats. Tesla’s wireless charging pad doesn’t seem to work in these cars either.
Tesla declined to comment publicly, but new customers who have complained said the company is citing the global chip shortage as the reason. It remains unclear how widespread the problem is, but Tesla has told its customers to expect new parts in December. The company said new buyers “hopefully sometime in the coming weeks” can make a service appointment to fix the missing ports on their vehicles. to install for free.
