New campaign recall in sight for Tesla. In the United States, the NHTSA has once again put the giant led by Elon Musk in its sights: in this case the Autopilot system at the center of several previous recalls has nothing to do with it, rather what brought Tesla into play was an alleged malfunction in the seat belt warning system which could increase the risk of injury in the event of a collision. Precisely for this reason, several hundred thousand Tesla electric cars have been recalled.
Recall Tesla
125,227 to be precise, all in the United States: the recall concerns Model S 2012-2024, Model X 2015-2024, Model 3 2017-2023 and Model Y 2020-2023. The US regulator said that the vehicles in question they are not compliant to federal safety requirements since the seat belt warning light and chime may not activate when the driver is not wearing their seat belt.
Software update
As always, Tesla’s recall will be simply figurative: the electric cars under observation will in fact not return to the Tesla base or to any Tesla point, but the American company itself will issue a software update remotely to solve the problem. According to reports from Reuters, the implementation of this update is expected to begin during this month.
Not the first recall
Another, yet another, recall for Tesla in the United States in recent months. In January the company led by Elon Musk had in fact recalled 200,000 vehicles including Model S, software malfunction which could obstruct the driver’s visibility when reversing, while in April it also recalled 3,878 Cybertrucks to repair the pedal of the accelerator which could otherwise have come loose and become stuck in the internal lining.
