A “strategic” postponement for Terra Invicta, the strategic one for XCOM fans.
The team behind the popular mod for XCOM, Long War, announced the postponement of the strategic completely unpublished they have been working on for four years. Pavonis Interactive describes Terra Invicta as one strategic on a large scale, in which “an alien invasion has fragmented humanity into seven ideological factions, each with a distinct vision of the future”, according to its description on Steam . The various factions have in fact different aspirations, including the adoration of the invaders or even the simple desire to build a huge ship and escape as far as possible from the extraterrestrial threat.
The strategy was postponed for a few months, slipping until the spring of next year, therefore it will have a release date between April and June of 2022. The reasons behind the delay are soon said: the game still needs a balance in the late game and general improvements to the artificial intelligence.
“The main features are in place and we are refining the game ahead of launch, but we decided a postponement would be important to ensure that the final product lives up to the expectations of the players.”, said the creative director of Terra Invicta, John Lumpkin.
Work on the game began after the release of the Long War mod for XCOM, and during development the team also took the time to release other mods for XCOM 2, including Long War 2, after which they got back to Kickstarter to finance Terra Invicta; they reached their goal in just six hours from the start of the campaign, a sign that the project has a very loyal following.
