Traders of the contract images claimed that the appointed teacher was receiving a monthly salary of 1,700 pounds, and described him as “young and inexperienced” and was appointed as the executive director of one of the reserved schools, with a net monthly salary of 50 thousand pounds, which is the salary described by the publication as “Helami”.
The circulating publication carried accusations of wasting public money, and questions about the nature of the work provided by this teacher, which may differ from what his fellow teachers provide.
Minister clarifies
While the contract was widely circulated on social media sites and platforms during the past few hours, the Minister of Education revealed the details, through a post on his personal page on the social networking site “Facebook”, denouncing the “attempts to sow the seeds of discord” in the education system.
Minister Tariq Shawky said, in a clarification, on Monday morning: “hardly a day passes without some sowing the seeds of sedition within the Egyptian education system in all ways and methods, the latest of which is this (published) post of one of the lawyers publishing leaked papers, and he knows perfectly well that this violates the law. “.
He added, “The June 30 schools are private and international schools with fees, like all international schools competing in Egypt, while they are subject to the financial supervision of the reservation committee at the Ministry of Justice, and technically to the Ministry of Education… and their employees receive the same salaries as those working in international schools.” The competition”.
He pointed out that “in the interest of the competencies in those schools, a decision was issued by the group’s board of directors to be treated similarly and with the same salaries in other competing international schools, in order to maintain the quality level of this system of schools.”
Shawky added: “On the contrary, there are competing international schools that offer much more than that to qualified managers.”
The minister defended, saying: “The (mentioned) school principal has a working history in many international schools in Egypt and abroad, with much higher salaries, and salaries in June 30 schools are funded from the revenues of these international schools, and not from the ministry’s budget at all.”
