Tennis | The unvaccinated tennis star Novak Djoković will not be able to enter the United States

Djoković will miss the US Open tournament.

Novak Djokovic will not play in the US Open tennis tournament starting on Monday. The Serbian tells about it in his Instagram story.

“Unfortunately, I will not be able to travel to New York this time. Thanks to everyone for the support and good luck to the other players,” he writes.

Traveling is not possible because Djokovic has not taken corona vaccines. The US Open does not require a vaccination series, but admission requires a vaccination series.

Earlier this season, the Serbian also missed the Australian Open due to corona reasons. The unvaccinated Djokovic was expelled from Australia and could not participate in the tournament.

Although Djokovic has dropped to number six in the world rankings due to self-inflicted limited competition opportunities, July’s Wimbledon championship showed that he would have been even the biggest favorite to win in the United States.
