Tennis | Ruusuvuori and Heliövaara organized an astonishing rise and turned the Davis Cup doubles into Finland

Finland moved into the 2–1 lead in the world block qualifier.

Four-player pair Harri Heliövaara and Emil Rose Mountain organized an incredible rise against Belgium in the tennis Davis Cup world block qualifier in Espoo.

Heliövaara and Ruusuvuori won 6–3, 2–6, 7–6, although the Belgians Sander Gille and David Goffin led the third set 4–1 and got two match balls when Heliövaara scored in a 4–5 situation.

With their victory, the Finns took the home team to the 2–1 lead in the qualifying match.

“It was caught and loved that it came that way. The Davis Cup is still a special thing, ”said Heliövaara.

The uncertainty and vulnerability of the four-player game was known in Finland, but Heliövaara and Ruusuvuori excavated their best shots at the most important moment.

“There was drama, level and emotion, and if someone thought they were paying too much for admission tickets, you can call me,” Heliövaara threw in with great satisfaction.

Goffin joined as a deputy because of the coronavirus case and took his place excellently. He showed his versatility in the difficult moment of the second round of the Finns. In the end, he was no longer a solver.

Qualifier continues with a duel between Ruusuvuori and Goffin. Three individual wins are required to win a match.

The first the splendor of the lot and even the successful hard hits disappeared from the Finns in the second lot. The start of the third installment was no easier.

“The fact that they got up after the 2nd round and won is in front of the home crowd when the crowd encourages,” Heliövaara said.

Heliövaara looked magically accurate in the opening round, but as if magic had left the racket in another. As Heliövaara began to fumble, Ruusuvuori drowned in the same pond of difficulty.

“Somehow there was such a feeling that my feet were sticky, even though I ate all the nutrient gels.”

It is by no means to be underestimated that the Belgians improved their grip all the time after a difficult start for them. The second installment in particular was great for them.

For the Finns, the victory was tasty, and it was noticed by the behavior of the audience. Such rises and performances are rarely seen even on a year-round rolling ATP tour.
