Tennis | Russia tries its own, from the head of the Kazakh tennis champion – outrageous boasting: “We won Wimbledon”

23-year-old Jelena Rybakina denies that she is a product of the Russians.

Wimbledon women’s singles tennis champion Yelena Rybakina on Tuesday denied Russian claims that he is a “product of Russia”.

Born in Russia, but representing Kazakhstan since 2018, Rybakina received a hero’s welcome after returning from Britain as the champion of the grand slam tournament.

Several Russians own Rybakina’s achievement. For example, the head of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishtchev congratulated Rybakina on her victory and described her as Russian.

“We won Wimbledon,” Tarpishtchev said.

Former men’s world number one, Russian Yevgeny Kafelnikov accompanied the view of the tennis boss on his Twitter account on Monday.

“Buying a finished product from a producer does not require a lot of brains,” said Kafelnikov.

Kafelnikov won the French and Australian Open championships in the late 1990s and Olympic gold in Sydney in 2000.

Rybakina23, says the development of a junior player into an adult star is a long and difficult process, and the player needs a good team to help him.

“I am very lucky that I have succeeded,” Rybakina said in Kazakhstan.

Vice President of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation Juri Polski wondered why Russia let Rybakina represent Kazakhstan if they thought this was promising.

“In 2018, Tarpishtchev said that he does not expect success from Rybakina. I think we can put an end to this discussion,” Polski said.

Rybakina’s parents live in Moscow, and the player has not wanted to disclose how much time he spends in his former homeland.

At Wimbledon, Rybakina could not have played as a Russian, as players from Russia and Belarus were banned from this season’s grass-court grand slam tournament.

Kazakhstan for tennis Rybakina’s Wimbledon win on Saturday was a historically tough achievement. The player said that he will donate part of the winnings to junior tennis in Kazakhstan and animal welfare.

“The achievement is a joy for me, but it also brings responsibility,” Rybakina reminded.
