Czech tennis player Karolina Pliskova has qualified for the Wimbledon final. The number eight of the placing list eliminated the second-ranked Arina Sabalenka from Belarus. She won the match 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.
The 29-year-old Pliskova never got beyond the fourth round until Thursday at the grand slam tournament in London. In 2016 she reached the final of the US Open, which she then lost to the German Angelique Kerber. She decided the match against Sabalenka with an ace.
At Wimbledon she will meet Australian Ashleigh Barty in the final battle, who defeated Kerber 6-3, 7-6 (3). (ANP)
