Russian tennis player and fifth racket in the world, Andrei Rublev, tested positive for coronavirus. He announced this on Monday, December 27, on his Twitter account.
“At the moment I am in Barcelona and, unfortunately, my test for COVID-19 was positive. I am isolated and follow all the prescriptions of the doctors. <…> I am very upset and worried about what is happening. Please take care of yourself and the people around you, ”wrote the tennis player.
The athlete noted that he is fully vaccinated, but will go to Australia, where the new season starts in January, “only when it is safe for the rest.” He promised to return to court at the earliest opportunity.
Rublev on this day was supposed to fly to Australia for the ATP Cup, recalled “Sport-Express“.
The ATP Cup will take place in Sydney from January 1-9, 2022. The current winner of the tournament is the Russian national team.
On December 26, it became known that Russian hockey players Tampa Bay Lightning Andrei Vasilevsky and Mikhail Sergachev were included in the COVID protocol of the National Hockey League (NHL). Inclusion in it can be due to a number of reasons – from a positive test for coronavirus to contact with the risk of infection.
