Without naming names, the emedebista said that he will support those who “maintain the reforms already carried out in their government”
the former president Michel Temer (MDB) released this Thursday (6.Oct.2022) a note stating that, in the 2nd round of the election, it will applaud the candidacy that “defend democracy, strictly comply with the Constitution, promote pacification, maintain the reforms already carried out in his government and propose to Congress the reforms that are already on the country’s agenda”.
There was an expectation that the emedebista would announce, in the coming days, his support for the re-election of Jair Bolsonaro (PL). Temer maintains a cordial relationship with Bolsonaro. His party, the MDB, has released its state directories to support whoever they prefer.
The MDB candidate for the presidency, Simone Tebet, announced support for former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The re-elected governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), in turn, declared support for Bolsonaro’s re-election.

“I’ve been in London for a few days on a lecture schedule. Following the news about the 2nd round elections and in response to everyone who has been looking for me, I clarify that I will applaud the candidacy that defends democracy, strictly abides by the Constitution, promotes pacification, maintains the reforms already carried out in my government and proposes to Congress the reforms that are already on the country’s agenda.”
Temer and PT
O Power 360 found that the statement by ex-president Lula referring to Temer as “the other one who gave the blow” it was the last straw for the emedebista not to approach the PT. Lula’s speech took place at an event in Fortaleza, in July of this year.
The deposition of Dilma Rousseff (PT) took place in 2016. Temer, PT’s deputy at the time, assumed command of the Planalto Palace when the impeachment was approved by Congress.
