The regional president, Fernando López Miras, joins forces with the popular Valencians to demand better financing and infrastructure
The Popular Party of the Region of Murcia and the Popular Party of the Valencian Community held a working meeting this Friday in San Pedro del Pinatar, in which common challenges were addressed, such as the financing model, railway infrastructure and water. The deputy secretary of Territorial Organization, Miguel Tellado, attended the same, who assured that “the PP is prepared to obtain a large majority in the Region of Murcia that will support the management of Fernando López Miras.”
During the meeting, the president of the Popular Party of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, stated that “the solution for Pedro Sánchez’s energy efficiency is to be hot in summer and cold in winter: he should make other decisions such as those proposed by Alberto Núñez Feijóo every week.
In turn, López Miras recalled that “both the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia are the two territories most punished and harmed by the regional financing system”, before which, he added, “the Government of Spain paints something, and The first thing I would have to do is sit down with all the autonomous communities to reach an agreement that does not harm anyone. “The citizens of the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia cannot continue to be treated as second-class Spaniards,” he added.
“We have to implement railway infrastructures that link the Valencian Community with the Region of Murcia,” asked López Miras, who criticized that “it cannot be that we do not have a High Speed connection between the two autonomous communities.” In line, he recalled that “thanks to Pedro Sánchez we have already become a railway island: there is no train connection with the capital of Spain, to which you can only go by bus to Albacete and make a transfer to get by train to Madrid”. “This is another of the abuses of the Government of PSOE and Podemos with the Region of Murcia,” he lamented.

The president of the PPRM announced that at the meeting “we are going to talk about the importance of water and the Transfer for Spain, not only for the Region of Murcia and for the Valencian Community, because thanks to the Tagus-Segura, 70% of the fruit and vegetables provided by Spain”.
López Miras stressed that “in the Region of Murcia we have had the best summer, so far the best month of July in history in terms of tourist arrivals”, to which “a Mar Menor that thousands of tourists have enjoyed we have received, even if it bothers some”. “This summer we have been able to enjoy a Mar Menor that has remained stable, despite the fact that the Sánchez government has tried to use it as a throwing weapon,” he stressed.
For his part, the Deputy Secretary of Territorial Organization of the PP, Miguel Tellado, criticized Sánchez’s complacent attitude while inflation “eats” the salary and savings of families and companies and warned that Sánchez looks “more and more like the Zapatero that denied the crisis” at a time “when what we need is a government fully aware of the difficulties of the Spanish”.
Likewise, he warned that “many families already have their September payroll compromised due to the increase in electricity, gas, fuel and the most expensive start of the school year in history” and affirmed that “Spain is not here for jokes, we have to face a very serious situation”, while pointing out that “the increase in fixed costs will reduce the competitiveness of our companies abroad”.
In addition, he urged the Government to provide solutions to deal with this situation instead of saying that “everything is going well”, as Vice President Calviño did about the unemployment data for August known this Friday, and pointed out that these months two models will be confronted: that of the PSOE and the parties that accompany it and that of the PP, which is the alternative.
He also celebrated that “Sánchez has decided to apply the gas VAT reduction to 5% as the PP proposed in April”, although he considered it a “pity” that he did not do so then because the savings for families would have been much greater, in addition to ask “the members of the PP to be in the street and listen to the people and assures that his party will respond to each insult from the PSOE and the Government with a proposal and a solution for the citizens”.
Tellado criticized that in the Valencian Community there is a government “concerned about the families, but about their own” and assured that “when Feijóo is president of the Government he will speak with the also president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, about the connections railways in this community.
For his part, the president of the PPCV, Carlos Mazón, highlighted the fraternity between the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia and praised the fact that in this “inheritance tax has been abolished, no new tourism tax has been implemented, all SAMUS have a doctor and that health work with dignity and professionalism, where parents decide on the educational freedom of their children or water is defended as its territory deserves». All this, unfortunately, is not found a few kilometers away », he lamented.
“Many things unite us, such as the Mediterranean Corridor and its unjustifiable delay, the defense of water or financing, a matter in which the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia continue to be the worst treated in Spain,” Mazón stressed, criticizing that ” We have spent four years in which Pedro Sánchez is costing us dearly and eight years in which the lack of vindication, weight and results, or what is the same, the permanent silence of Puig is costing us dearly ».
The president of the PPCV thanked that “we have a national leadership of the party to which we do not have to explain the needs of water for this land and for Murcia, nor of fair and adequate financing, where there are neither winners nor losers, but rather proportionate and adequate to our needs”.
Finally, Mazón referred to the fires suffered this summer in both territories, and thanked “the solidarity of the Government of the Region of Murcia, which collaborated in the work of extinguishing the large forest fires in the Valencian Community this summer, by just as the Fire Department of Alicante collaborated in the extinction of the fire that affected Jumilla».
