This Friday afternoon (18), Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court, decided to block the Telegram messaging application in Brazil. The measure came after court requests to block and demonetize accounts linked to Bolsonarista blogger Allan dos Santos.
Santos is considered a fugitive from justice in the investigation that investigates digital militias and the production of fake news. Several far-right users did not like the determination and are looking for ways to circumvent the block with the use of VPN systems (virtual private networks) that simulate a connection outside Brazil.

According to an article by O Globo, extremist groups such as “Ucraniza Brasil”, “Censura Livre” and “Bolsonaro Presidente” intensified the sharing of tips. The content also reaches groups of CACs (hunters, shooters and gun collectors), neo-Nazis, conspiracyists and anti-vaccinations.
The message “SHARE WITH EVERYONE USING TELEGRAM: Anti-censorship manual for Telegram on smartphones” is one of the most shared. On the other hand, some users defended the migration to Discord, an application commonly used by gamers. This afternoon, the search for the term “VPN” on Google had skyrocketed in Brazil.
