Since the iPhone X released in 2017, one of the best-known external features of Apple phones has been the camera notch located at the top of the screen.
Many of Apple’s competitors, including the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer Samsung, have introduced phones to the market where the front camera is under the screen and thus almost imperceptible. However, these cameras have suffered from comparatively poor image quality. Apple’s solution to reduce the large camera opening can be seen as some kind of compromise.
The new phone models will be on the market in September–October and their price in Finland starts at 1,039 euros. The most expensive Pro Max model with one terabyte of storage costs 2,149 euros.

The company also announced new smartwatch models. The basic models Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch SE are marketed especially with exercise and health features. According to Apple, the more expensive Series 8 watch can, among other things, better measure body temperature changes.
In addition, Apple brings to the market the Watch Ultra watch, which is more resistant to water and shocks and equipped with a more powerful battery. The watch, specially designed for outdoor activities, is promised to offer more accurate GPS location information than other models.
Company traditionally announces its new phone models in early autumn and other technology products such as tablets and computers later in early winter. The company is also expected to announce its first virtual reality glasses next year.
