This makes Swift the first artist to win the award for best album four times and she has surpassed Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon. She also won a Grammy for Best Vocal Performance. While accepting her awards, Swift announced she will release a new album titled April 19 The Tortured Poets Department.
Long-time commercially successful singers Miley Cyrus won prizes for the first time at the prestigious Grammy Awards. She won for her mega hit Flowers both a Grammy for 'record of the year' and for best pop performance solo.
The number What Was I Made For?which was written for the film by Billie Eilish O'Connell and Finneas O'Connell Barbie, won the award for 'song of the year'. The American singer and songwriter Victoria Monét, who is still relatively unknown in the Netherlands, was named best new artist.
Solána Imani Rowe, or SZA, was nominated nine times and won three of them. She won, among other things, the Grammy for best R&B song Snooze. “I come from very far away and can't believe this is really happening,” she said on stage after receiving her award from Lizzo, with whom she performed in small halls not so long ago. “It feels very unreal.”
