Mexico.- This Friday, the Ministry of Economy (SE) announced that its head, the secretary Tatiana Clouthier Carrillowill make a working tour of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
The tour that the Mexican official will carry out will include February 20 to 23 this year, which will take place within the framework of the Dubai Expo 2020.
Through a statement, the federal agency made it public knowledge that Clouthier Carrillo will hold meetings with commercial and business groups in the city known for its luxurious shops.
Likewise, the Secretary of Economy will lead the event Flavors of Mexico: MSMEs and Denominations of Origin, where more than 100 micro, small and medium-sized companies (MSMEs) have exhibited their products and services.

In addition to this, the public servant will also ratify the subscription of the memorandum of understanding with Dubai Port Worldwith which the Mexican Republic joins the World Logistics Passport program.
“Secretary Clouthier will ratify the signing of the memorandum of understanding with Dubai Port World, with which Mexico joins the World Logistics Passport program,” the federal agency emphasized in the statement.
The Ministry of Economy highlighted that, during 2021, the United Arab Emirates was Mexico’s 46th trading partner, and the second among the Middle Eastern nations, raising bilateral trade to 923.4 million dollars on the aforementioned date.
Conflicts with the USA
Recently, the head of the Ministry of Economy traveled to Washington D.C.United States, amid the disputes that have arisen between neighboring countries in the automotive sector.
Almost two years after the implementation of the Treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada (USMCA), the Mexican and US governments have clashed on issues related to Automotive industry.
The first conflict originated in differences in interpretation of the rules of origin for auto parts, with Mexico accusing the US of misinterpreting the provisions of the trade agreement.

Meanwhile, at the end of 2021, the controversy between the trading partners was caused by the initiative of the president Joe Biden that seeks to give tax credits to electric cars produced in that country.
