Tatiana Calderón, ‘bichota’! Formula 2 will run thanks to the sponsorship of Karol G

Given the lack of financial support, the reggaeton artist saved the 2022 season for the Bogota pilot.

After missing three 2022 IndyCar races due to late payments from sponsor ROKiT to the AJ Foyt team, Tatiana Calderón returns to Formula 2 to race with the Charouz Racing System teamreplacing the Turkish Cem Bölükbasi.

And, as TIME could know, the great savior of his season was the reggaeton singer Karol Gwho decided to sponsor Calderón in order to promote female empowerment.

So the Bogotanian vehicle, on European circuits, will carry two great badges: ‘Karol G’ and ‘Bichota’.

The woman from Bogota, who came from being the one with the best average number of her team in the North American category, reaches the French group to being the companion of the Brazilian Enzo Fittipaldigrandson of the Brazilian historical Emerson Fittipaldi.

“I am very excited for my return to the Formula 2 Championship, I still can’t believe it. It’s been a long time since I’ve driven the car, but it’s an amazing opportunity that I want to make the most of. I am very grateful to the Charouz Racing System and I am really looking forward to contesting the last phase of the season.”said Calderón, who bears the label of being the only woman to compete in the last step of Formula 1.

Although the exact amounts of Karol G’s sponsorship are not known, this newspaper learned unofficially that the negotiations to continue in IndyCar fell through 160 thousand dollars (around 700 million pesos) that were missing to cancel ROKiT’s debt with AJ Foyt.
