Governor of SP compared the treatment that former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) received during his administration
The governor of Sao Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans), suggested this Saturday (7.Sep.2024) that the president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) would have taken the social network X (formerly Twitter) offline.
In an act on Paulista Avenue to pressure for the impeachment of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), the head of the São Paulo Executive stated that even when the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was “mistreated”, he never “compromised with freedom” and “never took any vehicle off the air”.
“The most interesting thing is how much criticism did the president receive during that period? How many times was he mistreated, wronged? And yet he never compromised on freedom, he never took down any media outlet. There is a difference between our stance and that of others.”he declared.
Tarcisio continued: “Today we are here again in the arena, out of devotion, for a cause, we are here to make a difference. And our cause is freedom, it is amnesty for those who are disproportionately and cruelly punished. Amnesty, yes. Someone might say: ‘are you talking about amnesty?’ Yes. It is a political remedy, Congress can give us this political remedy, we deserve it. The families of political prisoners matter to us.”
The event on Paulista Avenue, organized by pastor Silas Malafaia, was marked by criticism of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, who decided to block Elon Musk’s social network in Brazil after the businessman failed to present a legal representative in the country even after an order from the magistrate.
In addition to Tarcísio, the following spoke:
