The game was originally scheduled for release this year, but the Weta Workshop team recently announced that they had decided to delay the launch so they could have more time to perfect this particular title, which will now arrive in March of next year.

A Hobbit Life Simulation
Taking inspiration from titles like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon and even The Sims, Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game is in every way a Hobbit life simulation.
As the new trailer with the release date announced today also briefly demonstrates, in the game we can move within a fascinating reconstruction of the County, dedicating ourselves to different activities and interacting with various characters within it.
In particular, we are inside the Bywater Villagea particularly peaceful and wonderful corner of Middle-earth, characterised by a life in close contact with nature and in notable balance with the surrounding environment.
This is a game that is entirely rooted in the lore of The Lord of the Rings, but it offers a decidedly different experience than what we have seen in other titles in the series. You can learn more about it in our hands-on review of Tales of the Shire published last summer.
