The Syrian News Agency reported that “preliminary information indicates that the Israeli aggression targeted one of the car factories in the industrial city of Hasiya, and material damage occurred.”
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the targeted area in Homs includes weapons depots for Hezbollah and Iran.
The Observatory confirmed that the Israeli targeting also affected areas in the southern countryside of Hama.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense reported that seven civilians, including women and children, were killed on Tuesday in an Israeli raid that targeted a residential building in Damascus, which the Syrian Observatory considered to be linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah.
According to the Observatory, the raid “targeted a building frequented by leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah,” and led to “the death of 9 people, including 5 civilians, including a child, 2 non-Syrians, and 2 unidentified people.”
Fars News Agency and the Iranian embassy in Beirut reported on Tuesday that “there are no Iranians among the dead.”
Since the start of the conflict in Syria in 2011, Israel has launched hundreds of air strikes in this country, targeting Syrian army sites and Iranian and Hezbollah targets.
In recent days, Israel has intensified its targeting of points near the border crossings linking Syria and Lebanon, through which tens of thousands have crossed over the past week to escape the heavy Israeli raids on Lebanon.
Israel rarely confirms the implementation of strikes, but it repeatedly confronts what it describes as Iran’s attempts to establish its military presence in Syria.
